Two hospitals in east Aleppo, supported by MSF and other organisations, have been severely damaged in Tuesday night’s indiscriminate bombing of the city and have been forced to halt all activities. The two attacks caused the death of at least two patients and injured two medical staff. Out of the eight hospitals left in east Aleppo, there were four with surgical capacity and now there are only two left. ---- A Syrian hospital backed by Médecins Sans Frontières and the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) has been destroyed in an airstrike in Aleppo, killing patients and doctors including one of the last paediatricians remaining in the rebel-held part of the city. --- Médecins Sans Frontières’ president, Joanne Liu, has urged world leaders to stop the bombing of hospitals in the Syrian city of Aleppo. In a speech to the United Nations Security Council on 28 September Liu said that the conduct of war was “ever boundless.” She continued, “It is a race to the bottom. The unremitting assault on Aleppo by Russian and Syrian forces over recent days is certainly testament to that.”
